Librarian’s Day Celebration
The AVC Library was conducted virtually through Google meet, Remembrance of Dr S.R Ranganathan, the Father of Library Science in India, is celebrated as the Librarian’s day with the aim to promote the use of libraries. The 12th of August is being celebrated as National Librarian’s Day. The AVC Library was organized this events National Level E-Quiz and Poster Designing competition on 09th August 2021 to 11th August 2021. The poster Designing Topic is Achievements of Indian people at Olympics. To facilitate our students, faculty members, and also the outside participants. About 421 students, 13 staff and others 398 participate in the events. National Level E-Quiz and Poster Designing competition was successfully harnessed the eagerness of the participants, E-Certificates was issued to the participants.
The AVC Library was conducted virtually through Google meet, a student development program Topic “Critical Thinking” on 14th September 2021 at 3 p.m.(Tuesday), the speaker of this program was Mr. Elisha Immanuel, Asst. Professor Department of English Anna University Chennai. Dr. D.Dev Anand, Secretary, Annai Velankanni’s Group of Educational Institutions, presented the keynote address.
He discussed the importance of critical thinking and attitude which brings optimism into life and such constructive changes can make one brighter and more successful. He is showing them some pictures for creative thinking and videos for motivating themselves. He made our students to involve in some activities to build confidence. More than 186 students and more than 50 faculties have attended this talk. Students got inspired and motivated for successful carrier and future life.
AVC Library of Annai Veilankanni’s College for Women in collaboration with Lions Club of Mylapore organized Books Donation programme on 06/10/2021 in college premises. PMJF Lion A.I. SAIT, District Chairperson of Book bank and Chairman of Lions Club welcomed the gathering.
The Chief Guest of the programme District Governor PMJF Lion S.V.Manickam . He in his speech insisted that students can avail any book from the Lions Club and also thanked the Management for giving an opportunity to organize the book donation programme in the premises.
Dr. S. Devaraj, Chairman, Annai Veilankanni’s Group of Educational Institutions presented the special address. Lion C. Ramraj President, PMJF Lion Mohamed Naveen first vice District Govern and PMJF Lion M. Sridhar Second vice District Governor rendered their addresses. .
